sorry to jack the thread but i got a question. would it be a good idea to drop the oil pan after draining oil for an oil change to clean out the gunk that might still be sitting on the bottom of the pan? it doesnt look too hard to unscrew a few bolts if i can clean out crap that might settle on the bottom.

The Dougler said u gotta remove the j pipe, torque converter, n bolts from the transmission as well as the bolts hold up the oilpan

n why would there be gunk at the bottom of ur oilpan?

just a thought but wouldnt the oil filter catch all that crap

you dont remove the torque converter. You remove the inspection plate.

There won't be gunk at the bottom of the pan, if there is, you will have known by the fact that your car is running like crap and will soon DIE

and the only tranny bolts you take out are the bolts that hold the inspection plate to the tranny.

The oil pan is not designed to be removed many times. If upon too many cycles of screwing and unscrewing, the bolt threads inside the lower cylinder block are ruined, it would be an expensive and unnecessary repair.

Then there ain't nothing to prevent the oil pan from being scratched and/or cut again.

I would not do that much work for that but go for it man but you will have to keep putting new liquid gasket on and that honda bond starts to get pricey.
