oil fluid extractor

Hello,

Has anyone tried using this device for oil changes for Honda or Acura vehicles.

Also, does this method work. Since it would minimize the chance of stripping threads on oil drain plug.

Thanks.

I would think of buying it actually... I guess its good to remove the oil drain plug as you can clean off the magnet. I heard Mercedes uses a pumping system like that.

I have changed Engine oil since I was 14 without a Torque-e-meter and Still tighted the Drain Plug without a Hinch...

Now that I have a Torque-e-meter chances are NONE.
For that Money just get a Torque-e-Meter and it Will work for ALOT more Stuff than Draining Oil!!

FYI: That pump must work For ALOT of BMWs since they use a Gravity/Vacuum Pump system to Drain/Fill ATF....

its pretty hard to generate more than 29 foot pounds with a standard wrench
laying on your back for an oil change
AND
20-25 bucks buys you a quality- accurate torque guage
Loose is bad!!

use new crush washer for drain plug each time for max security
get a new drain plug, if old one has been overtorqued, it stretches the threads
a few dollars now,,,,

shops blast on the drain plug with an air gun, or a guy standing up (in the pit)
under the car- with a 3 foot long wrench,,not a physics major,,,

Just do it the conventional way and let it and any contaminants drain out. You shouldnt worry about stripping the threads or ruining them if you arent over tightening the bolt. I had the same crush washer on my last motor for 220k. Never a leak, never over tightened.

I have a mightyvac 7400 with the brake/clutch bleeder valve attachment. I don't regret that money spend at all. I tried the pushing air method that goes on the reservoir and it was a huge mess.

and also, I drained my oil out with it, took less than 10 minutes and if I had kept it on level surface, it would have been bone dry after sucking it out.
