Oil Change New Car
I just purchased Acura TL-S. Regarding an oil change, I read an article that said I should do my first oil change at 1000mi but I also read another article that say the I should do my first oil change at 7500mi because the manufacturers adds some oil additive to break in the engine. Can someone give an insight on this on which is true.

I believe the owner's manual says not before 3750 miles. There's another thread in the TLS forum about oil changes. You should look at that.
You'll also find all sorts of discussion about which oil. But the manual, again, states that 5w-20 is what you need. However 5w-30 is okay, but you should switch back as soon as practicable.

Follow the manual on both aspects. Wait until the 3750 mark - if you change it too soon, you will not get a proper break-in. Also, go with the factory recommended weight of oil. Take it to the shop if you want, to make sure you get the right stuff (I do it myself - that way I know it's right, and it only takes 15 minutes).

there are plenty of advantages doing it by yourself and it is a lot safer and you kno what exactly what u put into ur engine.. however there are advantages of brining it to the dealer as well.. by bringing it to the dealer you get like a booklet that they stamp and when it comes time to trade in your car that booklet alone is 200 - 400 and the car they claim is worht 25% more than it is if you go by the recommended oil change AND get it STAMPED
