OEM spoiler question.. is mine a real one?
hi guys
i red somewhere that OEM spoilers have ACURA written on them (under the spoiler).
there is no acura lettering under my spoiler and i dont have the stronger springs that usually come with the oem spoiler..
my spoiler was factory installed in 1999 when i bought my TL.
is it really a acura spoiler??? or my dealer installed a knock-off one???

I know that mine says acura on it. Does yours have brake lights on it???
it should say right behind the light brackets, under the spoiler.
I'm not too sure what to think if Acura isn't written, you may wanna talk to the dealer about that.

When you open your trunk you should see the ACURA name right under the tail light. Its molded into the plastic. And yes, it should have come with stronger trunk lid springs.
The dealer probably did install an aftermarket spoiler. Dealers do it all the time. They pay less for the parts but still get to charge the same rate.
Take it up with your Acura dealer, although I have a suspicion they're just going to tell you "yeah, its not a factory spoiler."

im going to the dealer on october 15th for the 04 TL releasing. im gonna complain about my spoiler too. and about my brakes, and about my squeaky center console, and about the ****ed up driver seat track, and about the ****ed up radio, etc, etc ,etc...
im gonna make them pay for the damn spoiler.

i knoiw alot of dealerships send their cars out to aftermarket places to get their wings put on maybe before they sold u ur car they sent it out to a place sometimes if u want a wing they will send it out to get it done faster rather than orderin the part from the mfg.......

No such thing as a factory install spoiler. Its all dealer install. My spoiler was also installed when I bought my 99 TL. They threw it in as a deal, but if your paid for your spoiler and you were charged the OEM spoiler price, then you got ripped off.

yeah sorry that's what i meant dealer installed.. and i have no acura lettering and i got it on my car as a deal when i bought it too.
the problem is it's been 4 years.. i dun think they'll replace it or whatever.. but i got ripped off and i'll tell them my point of view

this is y any time i want a wing i never go factoy aftermarket looks 99.9% the same and it cost 50% less the dealer marks it up 125%.....sorry for ur trouble guys.....peace

Heavy duty torsion bar prevents from the trunk not falls down because the spoiler adds more weight to the trunk.

Mine has acura on it too,..
but what's the difference now.. it looks the same as the oem one, and its been four years.. You havn't been able to tell... so what's the big deal now...

and i like my spoiler even more than the OEM one.. my friend with a TL came here yesterday and i saw the acura letters on her spoiler.. and i dont like how it looks. mine looks better lol :p
but i'll complain just because they ripped me off
