oem ballast aftermarket hid bulbs?
#2
you can use any brand HID bulb, depending on what year of TL you need D2R or D2S
no adaptor required- the base is the base, identified by the number of the bulb
good place for new ballast kits and new bulbs with it (you will eventually need to replace ballast parts anyway) is www.hidextra.com
ck online for coupons too,,mention acurazine as how you found them
awesome bulbs are kaixen @100 a pair, great color rendering and output
our sponsor Excelerate has those
Suggest you get 5000K (kelvin color scale) for best to see with
stock was 4300, the 5 has a little more blue that picks out the reflecto paint used in road lane markings and signs-
that white stripe tape on semi trucks glows blue from .5 to 1 mile away!
thats awesome in low vis conditions
6000 8000 etc all lose white light on the road in front of the car... that you need
to see the stuff you have to dodge!!

And to add to that ^ The higher the K doesn not mean brighter, and blue is not cool

So it think i got it.
I have a 2003 TL-P and all i will need to do is got to some website and just get HID bulbs (thinking of around 5500K) and I wont need to get a ballast and when i get these bulbs its all just plug-and-play?
I also forgot that I have a small hole in the glass cover of the foglights will that make a difference?

4300 has a little blue, 5000 a bit more, 6000 a lot more with some loss of white on the road,,
the white light which some find useful for avoiding objects~

they do make a kit for converting the fogs to HID from regular 12volt 9006 bulb
It has all the same parts as low beam kit, can get same color bulbs for a nice look
or get 3000k for real fog- they are yellow to prevent a blinding light bounce-back off the moisture droplets
you will need to replace the lens on the foglight for any bulb/system you decide on- many are using a piece of LEXAN
ck the DIY if thats your intent

Sorry for the delay, School
The fog lights is where I want to put the bulbs in. and i was thinking of getting them to be a little bit bluer than my headlights, Which I am with most people here @5k.
so im just wondering if i need a whole kit or can just change the bulbs?
and will a small hole in the lens cover make a difference, seeing as it might let some moisture in?

ok now we have the story
Yes you need a complete HID kit as the stock fogs are regular old school style bulbs
Yes 5000k will be a little more blue than the headlights, or upgrade the low beams at same time for a matched set
Yes you need to fix the lens with some Lexan plastic cut to fit and sealed
Moisture and high voltage are not good friends!~
