Nos Question!! Please Reply!!

wasup, i have a 2002 Aegean blue type s and i have about $800 to spend on my next mod.............should i go with a 100 wet-shot NOS kit??????? has anyone tried it and did it improve a lot??!?!? because i ran a 14.79 (CLICK HERE) with just an intake and i was wonderin if i could break 13's with 100 shot NOS...thanks

You'll break more than 13's.... You'll need a new tranny with that~!:p Anyway, I think 100 shot is a little too much. Why don't you try from 50 shot up until 75, cause I think 100 shots will definantly do some damages.... Nice 1/4 time by the way....

Dhiren(SSS) ran low 13's with 75 shot dry kit with a 99 TL 4 speed. I think NXSD4R broke 12's with 99 TL and 125 shot wet.

I would not put wet unless is direct port. Under 100 shots I would not worry about enough fuel. So dry kit should be good.

I was planing on putting 150 shots wet direct port. The reason you could do higher numner is because you are sure each cylinder is getting the same amount. 150/6 = 25 per cylinder which is still safe. Didn't do it, because I became unemployed.

One more thing, to be safe, always applied dry NOS in VTEC mode. Because of the fuel curve.

Didn't know anyone NOSed their TL-S. I was interested also untell I heard about the tranny.

I was really interested in NOS also, but then i was thinking....do i really need it? I don't really RACE with anyone, the only reason why i wanted it because not a lot of people have it and it would be cool to have NOS. But then those reasons aren't good enough for me to get NOS.

I know of 6 TL's with NOS. Don't know of any TL type S. None of those TL's with NOS has had tranny failure.

Well I'm gonna be puttin in a Dry 75 shot either from Zex or Nitrous Express within the Month so i'll tell ya, and mine will be in a 2002 TL-Type S

Bitium,

what happends if i use nos before it hits VTEC...what will happend....where is a safe poin tto hit nos?

thanks for the replies...........my friends tellin me to go anywhere from 75 to 100 shot wet..........i guess ill do whatever he says since hes the one with the 12 second type r =P........wish me luck....and im knockin on wood that my tranny doesnt die on me..hopefully the next post i have on the forum will say 12 or 13 second TL

on a DRY system, meaning just N20 and not WET system(N20+fuel). You should have enough fuel when adding NOS to the cylinder. To ensure that a that you have enough fuel to create a good mixed, use NOS on Vtec mode.

Besides first gear, when you WOT your car from the start, you are car is in Vtec mode all the way. This is why you could get such good number in the 1/4 mile.

Once you hit 4k rpms on first gear and Vtec is engage, you could applied NOS the rest of the 1/4 track, since it would only take you less than 15 seconds to finish. You should be safe using NOS 15 seconds or less.

I heard that the worst point you could use NOS is in the highest gear at low RPM's (below 4k)

Also remember than when NOS is applied NOS is -70 degrees F. So it could crack your manifold or other components. This is why you only apply NOS in periods of 15 seconds or less, IMO 10 seconds or less.

This is about all I know about NOS

How much do NOS Kits usually run?

So what happens if your tranny fails and your running NOS?
Does NOS void out the warranty?

It depends on what system. For the money/performance ratio there is no better upgrade.

Dry system 60-120 shots, would cost you $500-800 installed. It also depends on what brand and size of the bottle.

Wet system are sometimes a little more expensive.

Direct port are the most expensive since you use a nozzle for every cylinder. Around $1k

Compuratized NOS systems like vennon and NX go for $1k-$1.2k.

Allan [VTEC]TL had Tanny failure from his 80 shot NOS.

Yea. but he got a Tranny replace, also he took out his NOS setup b4 bring in to RCA.
