My 1999 when on a hill/or sometimes just pulling outta the garage will CLUNK~ when shifting into gear. Into Reverse usuall and then sometimes Drive. Pretty normal for out Trannys'. My 91 Accord did the same thing for 8 years. You should always use your Emergency brake on a hill to take some pressure off the tranny and CV joints.

when parking on a hill you NEED to first fully set the parking brake, THEN put it in park
that takes most of the stress off the trans

You may want to inspect and adjust the parking brake shoes- inside the rear rotors

This is assuming you have also `curbed` the front tire so the car cant roll away
See owner book or dmv book or internet seach-parking on hill - for details if needed

The trans park gear is a metal J hook that grabs a toothed trans gear-
Treat it nice
