Noise when AC is turned ON
Car: 2003 Acura TL 3.2 Base
As soon as I turn on the AC, some "trrrtrrr" sound is audible. It started few days ago. I've recorded a video and uploaded it to youtube.
What could be the problem? Thanks in advance.

no speakers here, but COMMON failure is the ac belt tensioner
see the many threads on it
does it sound raggedy and worse with ac on? get a new tensioner unit with both arm and roller already assembled 80-100$
can be diy with minor tools and patience! small hands don't hurt~

Can ne1 help me find the DIY? I found way too many posts and I'm confused. And will it cause any major damage if i keep it like that for a while? I don't drive more than 5-8 miles a day.

first you have to verify thats wrong before deciding if its immediate needs
my ac belt tensioner made noise from 40kmiles to 85kmiles when it was loud enough to be heard from outside the car!
unless you have a leak in the ac lines there is no reason for the compressor to fail under normal use. Most times any noise from that area- you can look and see the tensioner arm bouncing when you rev it slightly
instead of smooth operation keeping constant steady tension on the belt- absorbing the belts stresses under load changes
If the tensioner is bad- replace the belt too
Many an ac belt has been replaced trying to eliminate this noise, but techs not bright enough to spin test the tensioner or look for its grease coming out....

did you find the actual diy section- 3rd item down main gen2 thread list- ` Official Gen2 DIY list` there are 2 items in it- each one contains a bunch of threads- the diy for each job, very easy to scroll thru and find area of car then exact item
example lighting: replace low beam or engine: belt replacment
