Traded in my TL-S for this on 1/28/04…

2004 Mazda RX-8

Yes, I know it’s an automatic but that’s what I wanted so keep the childish comments to yourself. :p

Thanks everyone.

In straight line speed the TL-S will smoke it (auto vs. auto). That's great and all but I wanted a better handling car. The RX-8 would smoke the TL-S on the curves - even without any mods to the RX-8. I don't even know if the TL-S could compete with it even after suspension mods. If it did, you would end up spending thousand$ of dollars to match the factory set-up in the Mazda.

50-50 weight distribution + RWD = fun car to drive in the twisties.

Thumbs up

So you decided to go with the Mazda after all?? That car is pretty nice, but It wont look good when all the southern cali TL's are lined up at a meet

Did you have to give the dealer all your mods in the TL?

If your happy great, but the new TL is so much nicer than the RX-8 it isn't even funny. I like the look of it, but performance and features are a major step in the other direction.

Still I hope you enjoy it.

Congrats on your Ford, er, Mazda sports car..

May you have many, many moons of smiles on your face while driving it.

Despite what others may say, it's a nice car. Should have gone for a 6 speed tho..., For a real sports car feel. But married life sometimes require us to make a compromise...My $0.02

Nice looking car. Very sporty with room for rear passengers too. I would've gotten the stick though.

I'm not sure but it would be fun to find out! Is there an In N Out in Maliblu or Moulhulland (sp?)?

Am I the only one here that thinks the new RX-8 is ugly? Ugh, that rear, side profile with those flared fenders is hideous.

I heard somewhere that Mazda was buying back the RX8 from it's customers because the customers found out that Mazda serverly overstated it's horse power.

congrats and enjoy. The rx-8 definitely handles better but thats about it. I like the styling and it certainly isn't slow (maybe the auto) but I'm sure it kicks ass in the twisties.
