No door chime, no warning chimes

I searched for this, and found people wanting to turn off their chimes, but not this same problem.

I recently noticed that my 2000 TL never gives me any chimes or anything when a door is opened or when the headlights are left on. Is this normal? When I open up the drivers side door, the interior light doesn't come on. However all of the other doors cause the light to come on with no problems, but still with no chimes. I looked in the owners manual for possible fuses, but I couldn't find a single reference to the chime. Any suggestions?

Is that something I can do myself? I don't want to take it to the dealer if at all possible.

because of the car not knowing that the driverside door was opened, the door might lock by themselves...so dont lock the keys in there (happened to me )so be carefull.........and for doing it yourself, i have no idea
