For NJ drivers..

A Tip From A Jersey Trooper

NJ is starting up a 30 day speeding ticket rally. From what I
hear, every trooper assigned to this has to hand out 1 ticket every 10
to 20 minutes. They will be focusing in around this area so watch out.
Here's what a New Jersey State trooper sent:

Starting today, New Jersey will launch a 30 day speeding ticket
frenzy. The state estimates that 9 million dollars will be generated in
speeding tickets. 1 million will go to pay state troopers' overtime.
There will 50 state troopers on duty at all times patrolling the 9 main
intersections and highways. They are the following:

I-295 north and south
1-95 (Jersey Turnpike) north and south
1-80 east and west
I-287 north and south
I-78 east and west
1-195 east and west
1-280 east and west
Rt. 130 north and south
Garden State Parkway north and south

I'm warning everyone now that 5 mph above the limit can justify a
ticket and every state trooper is supposed to pull a car over and write
a ticket every 10 to 20 minutes. They have issued 30 brand new unmarked
Crown Victoria cruisers and are bringing in all of their part timers on
full time. If you work in NJ, NY, DE or CT you will probably take one of
these highways. It's up to you how fast you are going when they clock
you.

101.5 FM confirmed all of this. So be safe and don't forget
speeding tickets are on you. You've been warned."

yea i got this email too..

seems like its turning into a mess right now. i havent seen so many cops on these highways during my 5 years of driving til now. in the last two weeks ive been pulled over 8 times.

speeding, tint, exhausts, front license plate, tint, tint, tint, speeding.

i have a total of 750 dollars due by mid september.

sucks because i got this email warning after i got pulled over for all of those. ive been pulled over EVERY TIME i took my car out for a drive. even to the local deli to pick up a freakin sandwich.

There has been an increase in visibility of marked cars on 78 but havent seen too many unmarked but I did fly by a Springfield cop on father's day and got a careless driving ticket since I flew past him as he was getting on the highway and he didnt have time to clock me. I'll knock it down to a non point ticket..He said I must of been doing atleast 70 when it was actually 100

there definitly is an increase in cops. but yeah i also do i highly doubt that the new regulations are true.

plus the part about the undercover cops.. i have yet to get pulled over by one. i only get pulled over these days because of my tint. this is very weird because ive had my window tint on for about 2 years now, all of a sudden these cops are all over me about them.

im pulling them off this week.

and my front plate is back on. damn jersey and strict laws and anal enforcers.

Snopes or not, NJSP is fairly Gestapo when it comes to speed enforcement. That said,

hey since this post is directed to people in New Jersey. I want to tell everyone the absoulte horrible experience I just had at Sussman Acura in Maple Shade NJ.
My transsmission is failing on the way into work in NJ. (I live in PA) They call me up to confirm that the transmission needs to be replaced under the extended warranty. They proceed to list about 800 dollars in additional service which includes replacing all the drive belts for 300 dollars which I just had done 5K miles ago!!!! and have recipts for along with a brake fluid flush which they also recommeded that I have done cause "it looks like its never been replaced" BullSH*T!!

Then they tell me it will take over a week and they have no loaners and will not rent me a car. The service representive was actually rude in telling me she could help me and then proceeded to lie and say Acura Corp. will reiemburst me for any out of pocket expenses for a car. I called and Acura Corp does not do that. I called Ardmore Acura which is near where I live anyway and they said its there policy is to rent me a car for 3 days and after that put me in a loaner. I called Sussman back spoke to the service manager who basically told me (in a go Fu*k yourself way) to take it to Ardmore I can't help you and we will not be paying for your car rental.

So now I have to risk driving the car back to Ardmore, PA but I don't care I would never have any service or purchase a car from them ever... just horrible!!

I hope that makes sense...I'm typing very angry

I think there are some partial truths to this because I 've been seeing more cops on the highway as of lately and on local streets pulling one after another(LIE and GCP and this is in NY even though its a NJ post).....ouchies Turbonator Life isnt always fair and people will still be "A" holes, lets face it dude we live in a world where money talks and the more you have the better you ll be served and when something is free dont expect much from it(Warranties) unless its from your friend or family

i feel you turbonator. i had the same type of experience but at a dealer in northern NJ. they always give me BS and tells me that i have problems with this and that so they'll have to replace it and add a service charge! that's really ridiculous since i do most of the work on my car myself. they really dont take customers seriously around these areas of jersey.

Turbonator I would just tow it out of there, instead of risking getting stuck on the way to Ardmore

sorry I stole this thread.

I got it to Ardmore and they put me in a new TSX and said don't worry we'll take care of it.
I was there for about 15 mins. Now thats service you should get from ACURA.

I mean Sussman was so lame... there only 30K dollar cars that have bad transmissions covered under warranty.
