Post Nissan Skyline

Just out of curiousity. I see all you guys upgrading from the TL to a BMW, Mercedes, etc....etc...etc. I was just wondering why no one has gone with the Nissan Skyline. Who here would go for one? Who wouldn't and why?

The SKYLINE is definately going to be my next car for sure.

HhhMmmm... maybe because they are almost impossible to get!!! Unless you're a big balla!!! I think the skyline would cost alot in japan (50Gs?)... then it would costs almost 10000 just to ship here... Then all the other taxes, customs charges, etc. Then you gotta worry about driving on the right hand side... If you ever have problems with the motor, what mechanic u goin to?? Who played with a skyline motor before??
But man, if you do get one... that would be badass!! You could smoke almost any car out there.... Now that's a true japanese muscle car...

I don't think the current skyline would pass US. emissions.

But I would not mind to have a skyline with 280 HP (okay, it's acutally around 350) and full time 4 wheel drive.

But it's not available. I would probably buy a EVO VII when Mitsubishi confirm its arrival to the state.

There are also three Skylines in the May 2001 issue of Sport Compact Car. R-32,R-33, and the R-34.

Motorex had to wreck 3 skylines for crash testing of each model, so 3 R32's, 3 R33's, and 3 R34's. They also modify the emissions, and redo the bumpers for crash testing among other things. They charge some 30 grand over JDM MSRP to recover some of the cost of the intial defecit from 3 totalled skylines.

Skylines in Japan aren't that expensive, I just saw some the other day in a Nissan dealer lot. All were brand new R34 Vspec II, and each going for about 3.8 million yen which is roughly $38,000 USD. Not bad at all.
