Another update:

The adjuster was just here and had me turn the steering wheel and he listened for the noise. He told me that the story about the uhaul strap coming loose and pulling on one wheel while the steering column was locked sounds Kosher.

Now it is a fight between the insurance company and uhaul. Insurance company's claims specialist told me that a uhual mechanic must determine if their equipment was at fault or not. I'm thinking "that's just fucking great!" How much you wanna bet the uhual mechanic comes back and says that their equipment is in perfect working order. THAT would be a green light for the insurance company to tell me "SEE YA!"

On a slightly positive note, the claims specialist over the phone sounded very nice and understanding but that's not really saying much for a "claims specialist."

Don't know yet. Would a busted rack leak fluids? Mine doesn't. It seems to be in the area of where the steering column meets the rack. the part that actually turns the rack in both directions. Couldn't see anything as the car is very low, however the noise of the clicking, like gears worn out was coming from that area. I'm hoping that this little rod can be purchased separately. I don't know what its called. Maybe steering gear or shaft or something? I'm hoping this won't cost me a lot. The car is very nice.

Upload them to photobucket or some other photo host and post the IMG link for the picture that you want shown.

Mechanic came. He removed what I believe to be numbers 3, 5, 6 under the steering wheel inside the car close to the fire-wall. He found a retaining bolt loose, which i guess was in the vicinity of end on 1 or at 4. Stuck the bolt back and it worked. Steering is no longer making noise. All is well except the steering wheel is not centered. THE GUY DIDN'T CHARGE ME ONE CENT! However he told me that if I chose to bring the car to him, he would charge 1 hour labor ~$65 to fully check the rack and remove that bolt again and center the steering wheel for me. Will DEFINITELY go to him tomorrow and give him my business.
