New York Dealers

For you people from New York, I just wanted to know from your experiences, which dealers are good and which ones to stay away from, based on your personal experiences. This information Im sure will be useful to a lot of people. My car is due for its 7500 mile service, and am confused of where to take it.

I just called up almost all the dealers in the NY metro area, and I mean wow, what a price difference for the 7500 mile service. Most dealers are charging 150 to 175 bux for an oil change and tire rotation... what a rip off!!

Acura of Valley Stream, quoted me $93 for their 7500 mile service which was the best price. That is inclusive of tax. Their hourly rate is $90 dollars I believe. I wanted to get my Wood Steering Wheel put on, so they said they will charge me for one hour worth of labor. Most dealers quoted me two hours of labor for this install, which I knew was bogus!

Finally, they have this Lifetime Oil Change Program for our TL's that you guys might be interested in, its $199 plus tax I believe and your guranteed an oil change for the life of your car, every 3000 miles. Somthing you might be interested in.

The other dealer, not really in NY, Park Ave Acura in NJ, looks amazing. Their webiste says that they install Comptech and H&R Products, which blew my mind, and their 7500 mile service was $99 and hourly rate was about $90 as well.

I hope this info is useful to you NY people.

I've had no problem with Rallye Acura in Roslyn. I bought my car from them and do everything there. They have really good customer service and they are very nice people. I've also seen a lot of modded TLs there. But getting an appointment might be a little hard. Almost all Acura dealers are. Just call in early, thats all. Here's their info:

Rallye Acura
1750 Northern Boulevard
Roslyn, NY 11576
www.rallyemotors.com

Service Department
Phone: (516) 625-7777
Fax: (516) 390-5887

I highly recommend them. Hope this helped.

I bought my TL from Valley Stream about 1 year ago. I had good service from the sales side. No pressure, no runaround, etc. I haven't done anything through their service department, but the overall shop inside seems well kept. and they sound pretty straight forward. No real sales pitch.

They've been sending me coupons non-stop for service. I have like 3 free oilchanges sitting on my desk. Probably expired by now.
What is the 7500 mile service ? From what I read it's nothing to elaborate that you can't do yourself, unless you don't want to. For under $100, I don't think you can go wrong with them.
I just turned 7000 miles and have done 1 oil change myself so far. I'll rotate the tires in the spring.

I haven't delt with Paragon Acura, but I heard nightmare stories from there.

Park Ave Acura seems to be the place to get CT stuff installed. I've read a lot of posts here about people recommending that place.

Park Ave. has a very good rep. Almost all the guys who've been their say they are very good. Its only 30 min. from LI. If you're gonna install aftermarket stuff like Comptech, H&R, etc., then thats the place for you. I also hope to pay them a visit soon.

IMO Rallye has one of the highest prices. Shop around and you'll see. They were the ones who told me that it would take 2 hours to put in the steering wheel.

I gotta agree 2 hours to put in a steering wheel is bull****. But I've been going there for a long time. They have all my records and I've been more than satisfied with their service. I don't mind paying their service fees, etc.

Paragon Acura/Honda used to be a CT authorized dealer but now they're not. I don't know why.

They had mentioned it to you? From all the places ValleyStream is the cheapest but I think it is still over priced for an oil change and tire rotation. They said they would inspect my brakes but I didn't see them do it so I said something. Tried to give me BS and then gave me $15 back lol

the 7,500 miles Service is merely a oil change and Tire Rotation correct??
Why couldn't you buy your own oil and filter and take it to an oil place or shop (if you don't want to do it yourself of course) and have them do it? I mean it will be cheaper and it is nothing major. I see places in BK all the time that do tire rotation and things like that for less than 50.00. Am I wrong for trying to cut corners here? Is it really that important to Have Acura Change your oil and rotate your tires. I mean I see the importance of having them do the other things (hose, pumps etc..) but oil change? maybe it just me. Plus most of the users here from what I see Switch to Synthetic oil anyway.... so what's so special about Honda/Acura motor oil?

Not flaming on anyone so please don't take it the wrong way......
Just asking a question

Oil change at the dealer is reasonable.. only 28 bux. Tire Rotation, just do it yourself or go to Mavis and pay them 20 bux or so.. and call it a day. My opinion of course.

And if you bought tires from them before like I did, cuz of one blown tire, they give you tire rotation on all the tires free for the life of the car ne wayz.

I've had great experiences with Acura of Westchester in Larchmont (my normal dealer) and great experiences with Park Avenue Acura in NJ the few times I've brought my car to them.

I go to Bay Shore Hillside and since this is my 4th Acura from them, I never have a problem with them in the service dept.

Since I lease all the time, I only get the 15,000 service done at $120. The rest of the time I go for oil changes and I'm not charged for them.

NYDesi80,

I think I saw your whip yesterday on Union Tpke. I was at the Mobil on Union and Lakeville when I hear this big roar and see a TL-S with tints and kit go flying by. BRO if that was you, YOUR CAR SOUNDED AWESOME! What kind of exhaust is that? Or did you just remove your resonators? Let me know man. Thanks

Kevin

Ryan's Open Road Acura in East Brunswick NJ has been great. The customer service is really outstanding. i have had issues with my 02 TL-S, which they took care of with no problem.
