New wheels & springs - Pics

I finally got my H&R sport springs and my 18" Enkei LM1's installed on my 2003 TL. Tires are Kumho 712's (225/40/18)

Great looking wheels. Almost look like they have a big lip.

Never seen a TL look so good without a body kit.

doesn't look like any aftermarket drop. Maybe a H&R OE Sport, but it can't be lower than that. you could almost get four fingers on top of that tire... that would look amazing with a drop, be careful the H&R Sport might be rubbin'. Some guys cut and roll in the fenders to put on that size tire and rim on....and they are satisfied..

nice rims

Are you sure it's H&R Sport Springs? It looks to me like there was hardly any drop at all, similar to Comptech Springs. Riding with 18s'' wouldn't that clear some more gap even? I mean, from the pictures it just doesn't look like Sport Springs Stage 2 at all.

Yup, honest to goodness Stage 2 - H&R sport. Part number 50103 to be exact. 1.75F/1.5R

The pictures are taken, for the most part, from a low angle which makes the wheel gap look larger. Trust me, I can't get two fingers in there. You should have seen it before the springs - I could get my whole hand in there!

Most places in Canada require a front plate, but here in Nova Scotia, we're lucky. None required!

I like the wheels a lot... Now all you need is tints and your headlights cleared... It will complete the car...

As a matter of fact, it does rub slightly on the bumper “tabs” on the rear. I have not had a chance to cut them off yet, but I can see the rub marks and am quite confident that this procedure will completely eliminate the issue and I will not have to consider rolling the fenders.

I had the slight rubbing issue after I installed the new wheels, and before the springs were installed.
What may be of interest is that after the springs were installed, and with the same amount of weight in the back (around 350 lbs) the rubbing was not significantly worse (if at all).

It seems that even though the base height of the car is much lower to start with, the additional $350 pounds in the back seat cause the combined squat to be about the same, regardless of which springs, stock or H&R sport. There is clearly more travel with the stock springs.
I like this a whole lot better. Previously, with the rear-end squatted so much with a full car load, and not at all with just the driver, it was impossible to find a happy medium for the HID adjustment. If I get it right for two people, then fill up the car, I would blind the other drivers. Now, with the springs, it has a more consistent ride height.

Someone asked about the cost of the wheels.
I special ordered through www.tirerack.com in Canada so that price would be meaningless to most of you.

Just do a search on Enkei LM1 and you should find some prices.

Dude,

Nice pics / nice car. Must have cost you a fortune to get those rims ... HST?! Almost as bad as Ontario's 8% + GST 7%. Thank goodness I live 10 minutes away from the border (Michigan 6% only). Great choice!
