Recently Acquired A 2001 Tl, My Question Is Can Swap The Taillights?? I Want The Clear And Red Taillights, I Have The Orange And Red Taillights, Can I Swap Them, Will They Fit?? Does The Clear And Red Taillights Come Stock On The 2002 Tl's? Remember Im New To The Tl's. Thanks For Helping.

 

Hey, welcome. You can get them on this site. I am not sure if they are the cheapest here but you can buy the taillight and the harness for them and you can swap them.

 

You sure can. That was my first mod to my TL after I saw how nice those lights looked on the '02s when they came out. Makes a big difference. I got mine from a dealer but shop around for the best price...

you can get them cheapest ive seen is eBay. they are made by either ProCarParts or MatrixRacing. Ask Hzm82, the quality is the same as OEM, and you dont need a wiring harness for the eBay ones. you'll only need a wiring harness if you buy the 02 OEM ones, but electrical tape works fine, i heard.

 

Matrix Racing tail lights are different from the OEM tail lights. The Matrix Racing ones don't have the frosting over the rear turn signal bulb while the OEM tail lights does have the frosting part. You can't really tell the difference unless your close up to it but I would suggest you go w/the OEMs..but if money is an issue, get the Matrix Racing ones.

Actually, not entirely true since ACP no longer owns this site... but they do carry them. We do as well.... and yes, they are a direct swap... just buy the tails and the harness and you're good to go
