Yep - just got a '03 TL Type-S APB with chrome rims. Really like the car so far. I traded an 01 Mustang Cobra in on it. Even though the 'Stang would run away from it in a race, the Acura is still pretty fun to drive...still getting used to the FWD, though. The 'Vette is the fast car anyway  . Didn't make sense to have it and the Cobra.

Back to the TL:
What is the issue with the tranny in these things? Mine felt 'weird' on the FWY when driving it home. When I let off the throttle, it felt like it would fall on it's face, even though I was only turning 3,000 rpm. I didn't think anything of it before, but now that I've researched these things a little, I'm wondering if that is an idicator of the problem. It didn't do that every time, either. Just 2 or 3 times...

Anyone?

What you're experiencing is completely normal.... it's the torque convertor locking and unlocking. It's very noticable in this car and will take some getting used to... but don't panic.. you're car is fine. If you just got your TL you should be in good shape as the newer batches of the 2003 CL/TL have not shown ANY failures. So you can just relax and enjoy the ride

BTW, welcome aboard

I figured as much - but didn't know what problem was exactly with the 'bad' trannies.

BTW, welcome aboard

Welcome aboard!
You will love the FWD in the ice/snow/rain as compared to your other rides. It's a totally different ballgame and certainly very confident...If you do some mods, the FWD experience gets more interesting with some added torque steer! Enjoy!

Thanks!

One of the main reasons I got the car is because I live in Portland. It's wet all the time here, and my wet weather car was the Cobra .

So, I figured I'd get something that was still fun, but practical, and that my wife could drive. In fact, she's taken it the last 2 days
