New SAE standard for measuring horsepower and torque for the TL-S?

Is there anyway to figure out how much horsepower and torque our TL-S puts out utilizing the new SAE standard for measuring horsepower and torque?

Nope. Not unles you have the engine dyno'ed that way. The best HP #s are WHP #'s and unfortunatly they dont dyno that way

05 TL went from 270hp to 258hp sae corrected. If i had to guess on a 02-03 TL-S at 260hp, i'd guess 248-249, using a close percentage difference in the 05 publishings.

^ thats a good guess but i dont think you could really base it off another car, because look how the Vette for example gained 5hp..Dyno'ing would be ure best bet, or one of those horsepower calculators which u'd need the new SAE torque measurment I believe and it obviously isn't as accurate

using logic, the TL and the RL both lost HP, since they are both by acura/honda, i'd put my $$ on my guess, but then again at the crank doesn't mean crap, what you put down at the wheels is all that matters and how you handle it.

WHP is all that matters. what if our cars put out 300hp at the crank but only 180 at the wheels, then the 300 doesn't mean shit. it's all about WHP and that is what is driving me to get my car dyno'd soon.

Hmm...I guess I am going to have to agree with you on that, it makes sense. Well then, has anyone on this forum dynoed a stock TL-S to get the WHP? I know some of the members on this forum dynoed their cars but I think the one I have seen are ones that are modded.

Comptech has CL-S dyno, just look for the stock column, 220 whp @ 6000 rpm

Thats the dyno for 6 speed which is obviously faster than our auto tranny. I remember seeing a dyno for stock TL-s being about 190-195 hp and torque to be 174.
