Thumbs up NEW PICS (Warning! Huge files)

Finally took some pics today, after painting the engine bay, with Fiddlers help. His accord is in one of the pics. This is with the body kit and the mugen rear spoiler, i know i wanted to see some pics before i got it, so hopefully this helps:

very nice!

I do have a questions though. What type of pait did you use and how did you select your color? Did you try to match it with your CAI or what?

How did you apply the pait? Did you use a profesional gun or was it out of a can?

thanks

Cool thanks for all the kind words...

the spoiler is the mugen spoiler and is available from ValueTL's website. i'm not sure if we're allowed to post links, but u can just PM him, he's all over the board.

the paint under the hood is something that i was looking for for quite a while because i wanted it to match the color of the CAI. its a regular spray paint can, but i had to apply primer, then chrome, and only then the actual red color because this type of metallic red is only available for metal(that i could find anyway), and it just would not work on plastic. took me quite a while to figure that out, so use the knowledge wisely

i think i have some pics directly from behind, i'll see if i can post them tonight. but they tires are still not wide enough i'd like to go for that bmw look from the 540, but they have 275's on the back, so no way i can match that , i did switch cars with fiddler at one point so i could follow my car and look at it from behind and it does look pretty sweet though :p , has the little camber going and everything

the rims (i dont think they come in chrome, only this bright silver or gunpowder) do look like 18's cuz they have the spokes going out all the way to the edge, so for those who afford 18's or dont want a ride thats too stiff, this is an alternative, the down side it that i now cannot go through any auto car washes without steering the car so that the rims dont rub on the rail, so i'm very restricted if i just want a quick wash. not too many hand washes around here.

Thumbs up

Looking good. I really like the engine bay. Nice job on the paint.

Not sure I like the wind deflectors though. I'd have to see it in person, but since everything is black, they're hard to notice anyway.

Overall, A+!!

the installation is fairly straight forward, just make sure u get the two side clips and 4 screws. two of the screws are self tapping and are used for the side pieces, and the other two are for little brackets that help center the main piece. but basically its all on 3m sticky tape which holds like a *****. make sure to clean to spots where it'll touch with alchohol, let it dry and then stick it on. pay attention to having them lign up cuz its very easy to press one end down more then the other, i know i did but still looks great

thanks, and ye, u really need to see the deflectors in person. i love the way the look, they make the windows look a bit smaller, so the whole car looks more aggressive, and since its japanese made for the inspire, its a perfect fit.

no, since they are self tapping, i dont think u want to drill, i just used a power screw driver to screw them in, no problems with that.

Hey I'm just double checking because I don't think you actually said and it's not listed on your mods...is that the OEM body kit? I haven't really seen the OEM on a black car yet and I have a black TL. I love the way your car looks so keep it up!

How is the antenna mounted in the back? Could I use a simillar type of antenna and connect it to the fm antenna to improve radio reception?

Hey wat up man, are you by Rutgers in New Bruns, if so lets meet so I can see you car man, looks good. I live in Pway and have been looking for some TL owners but that stadium looks like Rutgers. I have a WDP 2002 TLS, just got it back because of the Trans and will probably order some stuff this week but if I could see your car before it would help. Thanks

hmm... old post... but yes, it is the OEM body kit... i think it looks pretty nice... not too many alternatives, and none for the front for 02-03.

the antenna is glued on with doublesided tape, and there is an electrode on the other side of the glass (on the inside) although really the installer is supposed to drill the glass and have a physical connection. but i didnt want them doing that. i suppose u can do it for FM, but i dont have a problem with my radio reception, dont know of anyone who does. maybe u should have ur dealership check it out.

I love it...personally the engine painting is too much for me...but I give you respect for being different. Your car is so clean...any swirls or hazing problems? The shot with your friend's accord and your TL is awesome! I love that shot! Says alot!

i use 20% tint, i tried 35% at one point and its too light for my taste. i had it done at guaranteed alarms, in brooklyn, they have one of the best people i've ever seen do tint...

as i said above, the guy who did the tint is one of the best, so no bubbles and the tint covers right over the dot matrix area. no sanding, no strips, when ur good ur good

thanks... as far as the engine paint job, noone really gets to see it, but when i ocassionally open the hood, it just looks nice... refreshing to see something other than drab covers i also try to keep the car clean (nothing looks better then shiny black IMO) and i wash it at least once a week, try to make it every five days or so... so no swirls and no hazing after a year and two months... hope to keep it that way

No swirls and hazings you say...hrmmm...you might be able to help me out then. What kind of wax, soap, cleaners, and towels do you use? I've have so much hazing and swirls...not even funny.
