New Navigation DVD 2.30?!?!

Has anyone else purchased a new v2.30 DVD?

I got mine in today. It says 2.30A on the disc, but when I pull up the information screen it says software ver 02.11.28. Is that what everyone elses says? I could have swore my old 2.05 disc said vers 2.05 on the information screen.

Hopefully someone else with the new disc can check their navi screen under information and check this out. I want to make sure that I received the correct DVD from Acura. It does say 2.30A on the disc, but you never can be too sure!

The 3rd gen TL navi uses different DVD's than the 2nd gen TL...so that will not help me.

BTW...we are in the 2nd gen forum aren't we?

Yes that is correct. If you look in the middle section of numbers in the group that is next to the ver. # is should read: #####- ####2005- #######. Thats the month and date the software was produced. Should be around august to november of 2005. For what ever reason the ver number stays the same at 2.11.28ect.

Thanks for the help everyone. A few of you PMed me too...thanks. I feel much better. As for the upgrade...It's well worth it since I had v2.05. I'll have to see if the "Big Dig" in Boston has been updated. My navi was completely useless downtown because of all the changes.

Once again thanks to all!

Hehe ... Downtown Boston is about the only place I'd need a navi. So much has changed ...

Your not kidding!!!.....when I'm in Boston, my navi is "scratching it's head". I guess I'm gonna break down and by this new disc, after all, I still have the original disc that came with the car (bought new in 2001).

Did you get it for the sale price of $149?? from here:https://iweb.alpine-usa.com/Acuradvdsales/naviorder.php

Yes I did. It made such a huge difference the first time I had the update in Boston. My old version would say I was in the ocean in the tunnel.

If you're in Boston alot it's worth it.

Yes you can use a "evaluation copy that you have to destroy in 30 days and buy the original" in your 2nd gen.
I ordered the original and wanted to see if i could "make a backup of it" for my own use, and it worked pretty well. Only thing is some times when i start the car it will give me a disk read error but if i eject the disk and put it back in it works fine. I tried it in a friend of mines 2nd gen and all he did was turn off the car and restart it and it worked fine.

I had the same problem in the began. After messing with 10min the car on an off. I learn the only thing you have to do after the car start 1st [Push] A/C then wait about 2 second then [Push] Map button. If don't work push A/C buttom again and repeated. Usually it work on my 1st or 2nd try. Now if you push any of button then A/C you will get the Disc error Display and then have to restarted car or eject the disk out. For some reason if you get A/C work 1st then you have no problem.
