Cool New member, really excited

I just bought a 2000 Acura TL, champagne color. I love it! I paid $14,000 for it, it only has 37,000 miles. It looks like it just drove off the show room floor. BUT, I am nervous. I only have a 30 day warranty on it (used car lot). Any info I should know please let me have it! I am scared of something going wrong with it.

The first thing that had me nervous was getting used to the way the gears shift, which I still want my mechanic to look at. When you come up over hills or just at any time, you can feel the gears drag out the shift or downshift a little harder than other times or hold out in say, second gear going up over a hill around a bend when you feel it maybe should of shifted. But the RPM's are not revving extra high or anything.

I am worried about extra maintenance cost I will incur.

I did see that every body panel has the original Acura sticker or part number, really looks great, rides great, and no noises whatsoever.

Give me some info, good or bad!!!!

Unhappy new tranny?

Why did you say that about the tranny? With that low miles, how could that be? I wouldn't expect that with this type of car?!

Also, I don't have an Acura warranty, can I get one??

You know it has a 50k mile warranty on it, but it's only for 4 years. Check with your dealer to see if it expired yet. I know mine's a 2000 and it expires in May. Not a bad price you got on it either, I just got mine a week ago and also paid 14000 but mine has 43k miles. Don't worry too much about the transmission, less than 2% of all the cars given the extended transmission warranty have had a problem. It's all the TL's CL's and some honda's 2000 through 2002 and some 03's. Enjoy the car though, I know I do.

I am not sure if you have the stock 6 disc changer in the car or if you bought it with a after market system. But, some folks that I have spoken too, myself included, have had problems with the radio.

The changer jacks up on you sometime and if you use CD-Rs with the labels on them, they tend to come off in the radio melting inside the damn unit. Other than that.... no problems from me.

good price

Everyone keeps telling me I got this car for a really good price! Its a TL 3.2, 2000, show room condition, and I paid $14,000.

I guess that is why I was worried, maybe too good to be true........
