new member with new car
just registered today. bought my 2002 TL saturday. had 16000 miles on it and i paid 22800 for it. it is red or maroon and loaded, i think it has everything. heated seats, power everything, navigation, bose stereo and 6 disc changer on radio, sunroof, leather, etc......
I was just seeing some of the problems some of you have been having with the tranny. should i keep an I on this or has it been on certain year models.
do any of you know any recalls on this one.
i saw that i can buy another keyless entry control. can i program it myself like you can a car alarm.

Congrats on the purchase... Not a bad price...
Dont worry about the tranny... There are a low percentage of tranny failures... If anything happens just take it in...
The keyless remote you need to take it to the dealer to get it programmed...

well what i mean is they only gave us one keyless entry remote. i guess i have to buy another one. so if i buy one can i reprogram it or would they have to.

another question then. the navigation system that is in the trunk, i cannot take that dvd out of there and play a movie can I? that would probably mess it up huh?

Not really, it just wouldn't play. Search around here and you'll find some instructions on how to play a movie thru your navi screen by connecting up a DVD player. Also, check the "Audio & Electronics" forum for more info.

yeah, sorry bout that. after i posted that i did a search and saw the info on it.
If i was to buy a dvd player only, a low profile(sinilar to a vcr player to mount in the trunk) would that work. And what else would i need to get.

Hello I just registered the other day and i also just bought my 1st non American car! I bought a 2000 TL Firepepper red with 35,000 miles for $17,500 It has everything except the Navigation system. I hope this will be the 1st car that I don't have any problems with!
