New key question

I need to get another key cut for my '99TL. I have seen the blanks on Ebay and various places. I know they are chipped, but can any locksmith just cut the key, and then I have to have it programmed? Thanks

^the dealer is going to have to program it unless the place you get it from offers a service where you can send in an old key and they program it

If you have a key that can be copied and you don't necessarily care about having an "Acura" logo key call a few locksmiths and see if they can "clone" it. That's what I did with my MDX and it's a lot cheaper ($40 total compared to $10-$20 for the key and at least $50 - much more at dealer - to cut and program an Acura blank).
