New to the forum and the TL

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Eric and I just purchased a 2000 3.2TL for my daily commute. I wasn't really ever considering an Acura but I'm glad I checked it out because the car is great.

I had a few questions about the car, but found most of the answers through searching.

So, just one.. in the center console, between the seat heater switches, there's apparantly a missing trim peice(i see some kind of port back there). Does anyone know what this trim piece is called so I can order it?

Any help, much appreciated.

Welcome to the club smoger. I too never dreamed about owning an Acura after my Chrysler 300M was stolen a few years back, but I haven't regretted my decision at all. Strike that, the only thing I regret is my wallet being lighter with all the mods on my car so far!

Anyhoo, is the switch you asking about the heated mirror switch? If it is, that is self explanatory, but dont have it on all the time...only if your mirrors frost up.

thanks for the welcome. i'm actually a chrysler guy as well. i've owned 4 chrysler products, and nothing else, since i started driving(2 lebarons, dodge srt-4, and a plymouth neon). i still have the srt as my fun weekend car, and up until last week i was planning on waiting until it was paid off and then buying a loaded 07 sebring. but the plymouth started getting flakey, and the srt is no good for my daily commute. i went out looking for something upscale and the acura is what i ended up with.

i assume the button with the wavy lines is the heated mirror switch, no?

the switch im speaking about is a switch with no label on it other than "On". even in the manual i cannot find mention of it. it's in the sketch of the door panel, but theres a label on every other switch but that one.

i looked through the manual again and i found the label for the switch. its called "Main Switch" and it's on the page describing the window controls, but other than that label, it doesnt say what it does.

That switch in question turns on and off the power window buttons in the back seat.

If you turn that switch off, only you in the driver's seat can open/close windows.

If that switch is on, all your passengers can control their windows.

Usually its called tan colour interior. You should take some pics and share. And just prepare to start modding. Everyone here gets bitten by the modding bug.

hehe,.. i def. know how that is. but being that i want to keep this "comfy" i think it's pretty much perfect. if anything i'll do some more work on my SRT-4.

the only thing i really have planned for the TL is to install an Aux input on the stock stereo, like a blitzsafe except i found a soundgate model that adds 2 as opposed to 1.(for sirius and mp3)

i also need to get the newer style cupholder insert because the current ones are worthless,.. and thats probably gonna be it!

oh,.. and i made an appointment for tint.. hehe.

will post some pics when i have time to get it washed up and get some good ones. first drive to work today and the car is already owned by salt :-/
