Question New to the board and want a TL

Hey, what is up guys? My name is Fik and I am new to this board and hopefully a future TL owner.

Here is what is on the block:

1999 TL Pearl White with cream interior.
Has a NAV system and sunroof.
33,000 miles

Wants 16,200.00 for it… Sounds good to me…..

How does the NAV system work in the TL. Do you have to pay for a subscription to have that activated. What are the knows problems for these cars? What should I look for when trying to find a used TL. I know an extended warrantee is a must? How much are they running?

I am a bass head, and I will be putting is some “deaf-d-fying” bass. 3 10” sounds about right.

I have a 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII with 350 hp and I have enjoyed this car with a pleasure. It’s fast, and looks good but it is now time to move on. Ever since I drove the TL, I was in pure luxury. The best thing is the touch screen with the climate control. Amazing.....

Thanks guys in advance.

Welcome to the club Fik!

As for the nav, you dun have to pay in order to activate it. it should come with a disc and u just pop that thing in and use it.
Well, the problem of these cars are the common rattle, squeaks, and not to forget the TRANNY

33k miles 99w/nav for $16k is not bad.
Did you look at any type s yet? They're more money but well worth it.

Refik.....Thats a decent deal. Depending if it was hit, paintwork, etc. The NAV is very simple. Type in the address, and it will calculate step by step directions. No monthly subscription, It reads off of the unit mounted in the trunk. However, the unit in the trunk needs updating every once in a while. The dealer charges a nominal fee for this. As this is me said, these cars DO have trans problems. Mainly on the 2000 and up because they have a 5 speed, whereas the 99 has a 4. My 99 has 50K and the trans hasn't given me one problem. Sounds like a nice car.....Welcome to the board!

That is a pretty good deal for a 99 TL.

It is a great car and you will love it. I also have a 99 TL with over 69K miles and still going strong.

Keep in mind a couple thinks with the NAVI. It's hard drive based. 2000+ are DVD based.

If you are going to be putting in a new stereo system and want to replace the headunit you will lose the NAVI voice prompts.

Welcome to board Fik....

I am also new to this board. It is a wonderful site to get ideas and valuable information on the TL. I also have a 99 TL with Navi 68K miles.

I'm a huge Acura fan

1. I had an 89 legend coupe 190,000 miles.....(just let it go about 6 months ago, and purchase 99 TL)

2. 91 legend coupe 77,000 miles( it was stolen)

3. currently own 99 TL and love it.....(wonderful car, no complaints)

I also would like to say thanks to all the TL veterans on the board for all the useful info!!!!!!!!!!!!!
