Need your thoughts re: engine not starting...

I've done a search and read posts on this but my problems seems a little different...

I have a 2000 TL w/ 33k miles on it and am very easy on it (no aftermarket parts either)...anyway, I tried starting it today and engine doesn't turnover at ALL. In fact what happens is that the lights on my display panel just start flashing and I hear a clicking sound. After a few times of this, I turn the key and hold longer then the engine struggles but eventually starts - what the heck?

Been having more problems w/ this car lately (ex. SRS light coming and staying on).

Do I just need a new battery or does this sound like a problem w/ the ignition switch? At first I thought it may be the battery but have no idea...thanks.

I found that my positive battery terminal connector came loose by itself a month or so back. Apparently, the metal that makes up the connector loses its ability to remain tight.

I had to bend it to make it grab tight again. Check the connectors on your battery.

1st: The battery issue, check for connections. If you have another battery available try it to see but first get the connections tight just in case.
2nd: The ignition switch could be going bad.
3rd: And I hope this is not the case, the starter could be going bad.
Take it to the dealer to see whats the problem. Good luck!

If you have any electronics (e.g. radars, phone charger) and/or leave your radio on before you turn off your car...it drains your battery even more when you turn on your car again and your electronic devices and your radio goes on. I used to do that on my TL-P until my battery died and the battery was about 6 months old.

Make sure to turn off everything before you turn off your car!
