Tomorrow I am taking in the TL to Charlie Thomas Acura here in Houston because I want them to switch out the tranny. Lately, off and on, it's been jerking, revving high in 2nd before it "catches" and shifts to 3, and it jerks hard when it downshifts from 3rd as well. The problem is, this happens irregularly, so if they can't "reproduce the problem", I think I'll be told to get some kind of tranny flush or something. I don't want this tranny going out on me past the 100K mark, and I am at 96K miles! So obviously, I would like to get this tranny changed out before it fails, or problems become constant.

Any ideas on how to "haggle" with these service people or convince them that this tranny needs to be changed before it actually fails, even if the problem doesn't happen on the test drive???

Write them a letter telling them your problem, photocopy it and have proof of mail. Keep the reply letter and if it goes out after the 100k, you have proof it was messing up before the 100k and they wouldn't help you.
i feel weird jerks soemtimes too, the forums said it was my AC or it could be my tranny but havent had time to check it out yet.

Even if it goes out after the 100K mark and if you have brought your car into the dealer about the tranny problem prior to the 100K mark, 9 times out of 10 HONDA will just do it under the good will policy and replace the tranny even if its past the warranty.
