Need Shocks/Struts Recommendation
Looking to install some new shocks/struts on my 2002 TL Type S (196K Miles).
It is now a 3rd family car primarily driven by my teenage daughter, so I'm not looking for street racing performance, just better than OEM if possible and to provide some improved ride quality for the next 100K miles (considering I am still on the original OEM set).
Thanks!

For a teenage daughter too, a month or two ago I put KYB AGX on back of our '03. Set them to #2, so that should be about "Stock" damping for now.
The KYB ride is definitely firmer & improved compard to the OEM's with 94k miles, and now we don't have the "slight clunking" noise when going over speedbumps.
Also, I bought the KYB mounting kits with rubber bushings & new nuts & washers, but it looks like I could have re-used the OEMs which looked perfect. I definitely recommend KYB, but you can probably save some money by re-using your OEM mounting kit.

One of our site's sponsor vendor, "Excelerate" is running a special discount on Koni's. May be worth checking it out !
By the way.....MSG C5, with your TL being over 10 years old & near 200k on the original shocks, ya may want to consider replacing all the misc. top hat bushing parts to keep things tight for the next 100k. Easier to do now, than later on, IMO.

Depending upon the brand you decide upon, they normally offer an aftermarket mounting kit. Check Rockauto.com for good prices and comparing available products. The "OEM" stuff is going to be more expensive.
Any rubber bushings are going to deteriorate with age, so it's more of a "pm" item. If unsure, check one of the OEM Acura parts listings which show a detailed diagram of involved parts. Are ya going to be doing a DIY ?
