Question Need Rotors or Tires ????

Uptil now i was convinced that the shake in the steering wheel was due to my rotors being warped but i just read recently that if the steering wheel got vibration during braking then that is due to the Tires being bald VS if the rotors were bad then the brake pedal would Pulse, So now i am in a dilemma here. I am not feeling the brake pedal pulse but while braking at 60MPH the steering wheel shakes. I am low on cash so i need some advice on which product should i focus on New Tires or Rotors ??? input needed from anyone who has been in the same predictment. If its the Tires then make suggestion please. my Budget is under $300

P.S: I did a search and didnt come up with anything regarding this

Mine did that slightly and I had just lowered my car, I just needed an alignment and the vibration went away.

TL Navi, it is usually the opposite...Vibration during braking is more from rotor problems whereas vibration at speed is usually tires which are either out of balance or have some sort of excess wear or damage, or you could have a bent wheel.

your rotors are probably warped. Sign the sticky rotor petition and realize that acura's brakes suck.

if your steering wheel shakes while driving WITHOUT the brakes on its a tire/balance problem. if the steering wheel shakes only when the brake is on its your rotors

yup

if the car pulls while driving then it's alignment

if you do need new tires, for under $300 it'll be tough to get something nice. I'd say go for a touring tire (vs. a performance tire) and get one with a 25-50K tread life warrenty. When you go to the tire shop, they should be able to show you a few that match you'r driving habits and speeds.

If you are gonna get new tires and money's tight you can get two Sumitomo HTR+ from Tire Rack for about $175-$180 shipped to your door. Just add on the cost of gettign them mounted and balanced. If the tires are THAT worn I wouldn't hesitate getting new ones since the "white death" of winter is coming soon.
