Need a quick response from you
Many apologies if this topic has already been addressed . . . but I was wondering what yall think is a fair price for a 2002 3.2 TL (unfortunately, the TL-S is just out of my budget). Is this car in high demand? What what I can gather, many people pay a fair amount over invoice. I was thinking I could get the car for $27500--I just don't want to get f'ed on the price. Thanks in advance for any replies.

That was some good advise. I'm going to kind of build on that and just suggest you check some of the online pricing guides like carprices.com, carpoint.com, carsdirect.com, etc. This car (at least in NY) is very hot and most dealers can't keep them on the lot. If you can get one for $1k over invoice, that's a pretty good price!!

The very best way to calculate a fair price is as follows:
[Invoice Price] - [Dealer Holdback] - [any Factory incentives] = Dealer Cost.
Aim for a figure around 4% above Dealer Cost as a base price, add acquistion fee, taxes, and registration fees (the only three that are usually really non-negotiable.)

$27,500 is about $1,000 over invoice per Edmunds.com. It does not sound unreasonable.
To get a better feel, you can try a search on this site or go to the Edmunds Town Hall under Acura TL to get some examples of what others are paying.
You also might try dealers that work through Costco. They took a $1000 off MSRP at the first phone call and were willing to talk from there.
I realize I could not answer your question directly but hopefully gave you some avenues to explore. Good luck.
