Need info about headlight housing...HELP!

As you guys might know, my headlights were stolen while it was being worked on in a bodyshop a few years ago. Now I'm trying to get it BACK to it's original condition since apperantly every winter one of my headlights would blow out (since the bodyshop didn't order ANY of the rubber seals). So...I need help finding EACH part that can help make the headlight housing weather-proof.

For those that took your headlights apart, I under stand that there are 2 rubber seals (1 for highbeam & 1 for HID unit) that help weatherproof the entire housing.

According to this pic, it should be # 8 & 9

BUT...when I took the entire unit apart, it also seemed as though there SHOULD be a rubber seal between the ballast (part #7) and the headlight housing (part #12). Could someone please tell me if there SHOULD be one or not? It almost doesn't make sense not to have a rubber seal there even though it doesn't list it in the picture, but it looked like it had grooves for one.

Yes there is a gasket in between the ballast, and the Headlamp itself. When I replaced my ballast after it blew due to improper sealing after I cleared my headlights, I dont remember if the new unit came with the gasket. I dont think it did, and that since I had my old one, I reused it.

AMAZING...

TY Mr Hyde. Of all 3 sites, you were the ONLY one that answered my question. Much appreciated...since then, I've gone ahead and fabricated my own gasket...only time will tell if it holds up correctly.

If there's a seal on the ballast, I think it only comes with the ballast.

READ My Hyde's post...it did not come with his...nor did it come with my new one either. That's why I had to fabricate my own gasket.

NP edga. That gasket was only 1/4 -1/3 a cm thick, so it shoudl take much. Maybe some ATV/Silicone sealant would do the trick. Works on the lamps, so it should work there too.

When I first cleared my lights, I used as little sealant as possible. That was my mistake I guess. I did the oven method, and my lights were fog free for awhile. One day all of a sudden they went being prefectly fine to having water in them. There was no in between. They went from dry to water logged, never even fogged up once.

That day, I had my bra on in the rain, so maybe water got channeled in the bra to an area behind the headlamps under the hood. An area thats normally not accessible to rain water.

The ballast went out, and I redid them again in the oven. This time I used Black ATV sealant, and used liberal amounts of it. There are NO channels around my headlights now at all. That was maybe a year ago, and Ive been fine ever since.
