NEED HID's FOR TONIGHTS MEET HELP!!!!!!!!!

Hey I wanna go to the meet tonight in SOCal, but both of my headlights are out. Does anybody know of anywhere I can get a set of bulbs in SoCal preferably LA area to pick up. I need to get some today and I have called every place I know and they are all special order.

Please help.

How did BOTH headlights go out?

Anyway, did you try Autozone, Checkers, PepBoys, etc? Also, there are plenty of tuner shops that keep them in stock..at least here in CO they do (tuner shops that is) Being in CA, the tuner capital of the country, I can't believe you can't find any D2R's in stock. The dealership has them too for a high cost, but they got em.

tried every tuner shop I know of and they are special order. I was looking for 6000k also, but if I can't I'll go with the dealer... if they even have them. I'm hoping someone knows of a place in CALI that stocks them

I don't know how they both went out, but I was posting earlier how they were turning pink. Then they both started turning pink. then they were gone. Not sure I guess just good timing...... or bad timing.

PM member Excelerate. I don't know but maybe he's in LA area or close enough for you to get them directly from him. Not sure though.
Excelerate is one of our vendors who can maybe save the day for you. The craigslist guy has all color temps and says he is in the LA area. $100 per pair.

Yeah they were both on then they started going dimmer then out. I'm gonna email the craigslist guy right now and hopefully get a response soon. I'm trying to figure this out and work at the same time. I hate this. I really wanna go to the meet tonight too.

Worse comes to worse, aim your headlights way down and use the high beams to minimize the blinding effect. Remember how many times you rotated the screw so you can turn the opposite way and get them back to correct height as soon as possible after getting your D2R's back in.

OK I found a place in Chatsworth, Ca. I got them for a really good price, I just need to get out there to get them. I think I'm gonna have friend pick them up and I'll install at my pops house. Thanks for all your suggestions you guys are the best.

While you are in a rush to install them, don't F88K up and get your hand/finger oils on the glass!!!!

Glad it worked out, was it the craigslist guy ?

Does anyone else think its odd the craigslist posting had no pic of the equipment??

Its 2007 Who cant take a picture of things they want to sell,ESPECIALLY someone who claims to have so many different expensive items.

As a cautious person- I would want proof of items existance before driving somewhere alone, carrying a few hundred in cash and getting carjacked or worse

The time of the posting was 2:30 AM- ok I work some odd hours too, AND its known that many many posting made after midnight have an element of hmmmmmmm to them
Just check things out is all I am saying

Agreed, one should exercise caution, but Craigslist is free to post and many people take advantage of it. My wife and I sold $4000 worth of furniture on craigslist and the people who bought the items are people like you and me. That guy had a bunch of things for sale and pics may be available upon request if you just email the guy. Craigslist limits to 4 pics unless you do HTML hosting. Use your best judgement. You can be safe and order from Excelerate here on AZ. But, he needed a local person fast, so I tried to hook him up.

But bottom line, use your best judgement when dealing online. If it sounds to good to be true...........

The place I found has the kaixen 6000k for 119 out the door. I didn't go with the craigslist guy cause it does seem kinda fishy....... plus he never got back to me. Oh and mission viejo is down by San Diego. It's a nice drive but I don't feel like driving 200 miles to get some bulbs.

And I am gonna grab some latex gloves from work and I'll be sure not to get my cheeto covered fingers all over the bulb....... although that would give it a cool orange tint.....just kidding.

The place is automotivelighting.com. They are D2C which I guess will fit both D2R and D2S.
Heres the link.... if it's ok to post it

Agree on the latex gloves

Notice to ALL- When handling ANY type of HID, Halogen or other fancy bulb

The oil from your fingertips reduces the life of the bulb SUBSTANTIALLY!!!

If you do not have access to latex, or rubber dishwashing gloves for the latex intolerant members, you can use rubbing alcohol on a lint free cloth or if desperate- a paper towel
The main thing is to keep the contaminents off the fresh bulbs.
