Need Help: TL headlights instead of Clearing

Need Help: TL headlights instead of Clearing
I was wondering, I plan to paint the housing a smokey-black colour on the headlights, instead of clearing the headlights would i be able to paint over the orange reflector? How would it turn out? is it possible?

just wait till thety make the clear diffuser, painting over the orange really wont look great.
