use soapy water (just add dishwashing liquid to water) and a steel wool pad. the steel wool is tough enough to get rid of the glue but not ruin the defroster lines.

i've heard mixed reviews about using the steelwool pads on the defroster... tint guy was going to use the steel wool pads to remove the dot matrix from the rear window...u don't think it's harsh enough to remove the defroster line?

it'll be fine...my friend who owns a tint shop uses the steel wool pad to clean/scrub the rear window before applying the tint.

I used ammonia water down and a razor the razor was fine for the glue. You just have to keep the window really wet.
