Hi all,

I am about to purchase a 1999 Acura 3.2TL in White with 72k miles on it.

I took it to the mechanic and the car checked out fine except for a few "minor" things"

I want to know how much I can expect to pay for these repairs.

-Replacing the brakes so I don't have warped rotor problems in the future.
-reparing/replacing Oxygen Sensor (engine "surges" a few times on cold start in a cycle)
-repairing/replacing exaust system. He put the car on the lift and did notice some rusting.
-replacing the timing belt, and any other items while I do that...like other belts etc. that I could catch at the same time
-replacing tires...what kind is best for comfort driving?
-having my wheels refinished...there's some noticeable "curb damage"
-having suspension redone.

I'm talking replacing them with factory or equivalent...I don't want the cheap stuff cuz I did that to my other car and it hasn't been the same since!

Also, parts of the car was definitely painted. How do I see if the actual paint and the way it went on the body is a good job? The one thing I noticed was they did a pretty sh*tty job at covering parts of the bumper, grille up so I see some paint residue on it. On the lift, I could actually see the overpaint to the extent which I can see the tape that held the covering on the car while it was painted! That's pretty bad!!! Was wondering if this type of thing is a DIY fix or should I take it somewhere to get it cleaned up...cuz once I noticed all this, it just ain't right.

I would have the used car dealer do all this but the Mechanic said I am stealing the car at $11,400. It does have 72,000 miles on it but the car is very, very clean. He said that the engine looks very clean. The Blue Book value on this with the mileage is around $15k ~ $16k and I see it online (Ebay, Autotrader, Cars.com, etc, etc...) going for around $14k ~ $16k.

Carfax came out clean. Mechanic didn't find any serious collision evidence.
