For our 2nd gen tl what's the most updated version the black cd dvd disk we can get for our system has anyone developed a burned cd that would work and is there any alternative as far as buying from acura for 100 bucks for a cd could we use a alpine cd being as though the nav system is alpine

The most updated version of the navi is 2.70. Some has successfully made copies, but selling burned copies is not allowed on the forums. Someone might PM you about this if they know how to do it, but only through PM's. As far as buying from Acura for $100, I don't think they're selling it that low.

Our navi system takes a specific color disk so using any other one will not work, unless it's a successful burned copy from a black disk.

 

they use different colors and version numbers to make it hard to interchange them between models and years

the only way to buy legal copies is thru alpine via the acura.com system
they are 175 iirc and acura sends 50 buck coupons to registered owners on the systems 800 and online registration

you can look up on the site to see when your area city was last updated, might have been a few years so you can buy a used disc on the black market here, or on fleabay
I did that for my first upgrade so my house was on the map, now its time for the new disc since towns I go to have been updated

that seems about when I got my coupon, but it was for 50 bucks off the new disc
