Navi voice only gives partial first instruction
Has anyone else ever had this problem?
When I map a route for the first time after I turn on the car, the first instruction which is usually "Proceed to the highlighted route" almost always comes out just "ed route". The whole beginning is cut off. Every instruction after that is fine. If I press the "Voice" button right after it screws up that first time, it says it correctly. This isn't that big of a deal to me, since I pretty much get the idea, but if this isn't "normal" I'll ask my dealer about it at the first maintenance.
Little quirks aside, I love the Nav system!

Yeah, I would also like to see a larger database. It's on a DVD, after all, they should be able to pack it full of addresses! But I'll take what I can get for now. :p

If it adds signficant detail to the CT/MA area or a new feature that I think is worth having now, I would probably get it. Otherwise, I'll wait until the next one.

I think this is a software bug. The problem only appears if you don't have your audio on and enter a destination. Whenever the Navi wants to say something, you can hear a relay "click" in the subwoofer area. In this case, I think a software bug causes the Navi to start speaking before the relay kicks in, so all you hear is "...ed route".
I'm sure they'll fix it in the next release... sounds like a minor problem to me.

Cool - thanks for the info. Yeah, it is pretty minor - but when someone new get's in your car and they want to hear the voice, it's that first impression thing that something doesn't work right! (Even though, really, the first impression is when they're walking towards it and it just looks awesome - then you open the door and they're just floored - this is a sweeet car!!)
I'm glad you think it's software related and will potentially be fixed in the next release. I'll look forward to that, as even my office building (or the street it's on) doesn't show up on the current version, but it was completed about 2 years ago! I hope it's on the next one.
Thanks!
