Navi to the rescue

Once again the navigation system was helpful. I was on my way home from rowing practice when i saw a dog that was clearly lost. He looked pretty scared so i turned around. the road he wason is a major road with no shoulder, just a guard rail. I read his tags and got the owners adress and phone #. this is the one time i actually dont have my cell phone on me when i need the damn thing. Then out of the bushes another comes up to me, a big ass rottwieller. so i think damn, i have to put 2 dogs pretty big dogs in the back of my TL??! anyway, since i wasnt familiar withthe area i punched in the address on the one dogs tags and the navi took me right to the house. As soon as i turned onto the house's street the dog recognized the neighboorhood. the owners wwere happy to have him back. the rottweiller didnt belong to those people though, so now they are stuck with another dog i guess (that one just had vaccination tags, no name tag). This is not the first time the navigation system has helped me. Im gald my car has it. damn, now i have to go clean off my tan leather from the dogs' muddy feet.

Nice story.

My dog thinks the only car in the family is the 97 Jeep Cherokee.

He is not allowed near the TLS-Navi.

I don't have a dog, but the only thing allowed to my ex-TL was my girl in the passenger seat, and me and her in the backseat :-D

We are really straying from the topic, but I used to take care of business in high school in my VW Rabbit.

Reclining the seats was such a PITA because they had a knob adjustment.

I'd be afraid that the dogs paw nails would scratch or poke a hole in the leather......Don't you think?

Doesn't really apply for this case but being a dog owner... They make covers for the back seat, cost me 40 bucks. Pretty much the same tan color and easy to don/doff. Saves the interior and lets me take my dog with me on trips to the dog park

Send your story to Acura. Maybe it will in their next commercial or the Acura magazine.

yeah, i think its called Style. We have been receiving it for free. It usually jsut features some sort of road-trip idea/destination, and suggests where to stay, dine, etc. I forgot what else they put in there. I am sure they would feature the dog story in there to bring attention to the navigation system. That story actually reminds me of that one Volvo commercial where they are driving around in the rain, and a lost dog is present outside the vehicle. The wife looked at the husband, who stopped the vehicle, exited the vehicle, acquired the dog while simultaneously becoming saturated in rainwater, and then placing the dog into the wagon.

You did the right thing. The navi has come very handy to me too.

Did you tell the owners the story? what did they say?

No, i didnt tell the owners how i found their house. i just sort of told them that i found their dog and someone elses (i assumed that they belonged to the same owner, but i was wrong) about miles away when i was on my way home from my club rowing practice. then they thanked me a few times and that was about it.
I wasnt too woried about their nails putting holes in the seats because generally leather is pretty tough. They did get the tan leather dirty, but i can always clean that. Hair is the real PITA. My mom used to pick up her friends yellow lab and bring it to the house when it's owners were on vacation in an A4 with black leather and i would be vaccuming out yellow dog hair for weeks.
Seriously though, there have been at least 5 times where i was thankful that i had the navi system. One time that i really remember was when i had to be someplace and the traffic was so bad that it would have taken me hours, so all i did was recalculate the route avoiding that highway. I guess for every 5 times that the system gives you some bull**** route that you know is not the best way, there is at least one time when it really helps you.
