Just go to the website http://www.acuranavi.com and press the button that says "Order Inquiry". Its right after the Model of the car....

thank you very much for the FAQ. the FAQ states the coverage on the acuranavi.com is correct. i guess no updates really. so we are lied to agian. when they say 95percent of the united states. this is all UNVERIFED COVERAGE. which we do have but it can be incorrect.

in simple terms.

THEY ARE SELLING US A DVD THAT DOESNT WORK CORRECTLY SO THEY USING THE TERM "UNVERIFIED COVERAGE". what they did update is a FEW cities. the ad for 95% means unverified.

this is sick, they sold us a BETA cd for 185 bucks

=(

Ocean County NJ was expanded quite a bit with verified coverage. This is what I was looking for so I, for one, am satisfied with the update. Not too thrilled about the fact it will take longer to calculate routes, but I guess it is to be expected.
I know it is a dual layer DVD, but I'm wondering if the size of it will exceed 4.6 Gb. Maybe someone who gets it soon can check. I'd love to rip it, for backup reasons of course

The news about unverified coverage sounds good to me... it's just the map data that other mapping products use. We're just spoiled with the "verified" data, that's all.

You can understand why they've removed the unverified map data up to now.. but I'm glad they've decided to include it.

They spend a lot of time explaining unverified coverage. A lot of people are going to be confused by it.

Looks like a great update to me. I can't wait!

So what, by 95% they mean data that was made by other map companies and is less than 6 years old which is better than they can do themselves?

And o yea how do you guys like my icon?
Just lookin for feedback.

No disk yet...

I did get an e-mail 'Order Received Confirmation'. But it says that when it's shipped, I'll get a follow-up e-mail with a tracking number.

The site seems to be down right now, so I don't know if it says that my CC has been charged...

Angry My CC# was declined too

They did not approve my credit card either.... But when i called my credit card company, they said that there was no charge attempted at all. So are the people at the Acura Navi website lying to us? They are just pissing me off..

Cities not listed are most likely covered in the map as “unverified” areas
Talk about a useless comment. "Most likely?" Don't you KNOW what's in your database?

Still, I'm looking forward to this update.

mentl, That quote means if the city is not listed it can be unverified coverage, Or No coverage at all. they are just lazy to tell us which is covered by unverified terms and which is not.

<~~ my school town is not covered ;( i hope it has unverified stuff.

Exclamation Transcript of phonecall to local dealer

I called my local dealer to see if they have the DVD in stock. (this was the same dealer that told me they will have them on November 17th for $285) Now he is singing a different tune.. Here is how it went..

Ring ring... ring ring.....

Dealer: Thank you for calling Smithtown Acura. This is Joe shmuck in the service department; How can I help you?

Me: Yea, I wanted to know if you have the new Navi DVD in stock.

Dealer: Those will not be available until January.

Me: .....Really, but last time I called you guys told me that they will be available on November 17th for $285.

Dealer: Yea, that was the original date, but now they have pushed the date back so it will be sometime in January.

Me: The disc is available online and already shipping for $185.

Dealer: (Feeling like an dumbass...) **silence** Yea, they always do that, dealers are always the last ones to get anything.

Me: Ok, I'll save myself the trouble and wait and money and order it online.

Dealer: Sorry, maybe we sould order them online too and then sell them here. (laughs)

Me: LOL (**thinking in my mind** you're a f*ck*n du*ba*s)

Yeah - UPS tracking shows that mine is already in Orlando and scheduled for delivery tomorrow! I started a different thread, but I'll continue with this one to avoid confusion.

Post any questions - I'll do a little writeup tomorrow (sorry - no digicam, but I may borrow the one from work).

I'll set up a sample trip from my house to where I grew up (near Chicago) and tell you guys how long it takes to calculate for each version. I have version 2.04 now.

New Navi DVD - Detailed & Unverified Coverage

Would the "early adopters" please take a look at the so-called detailed & unverified areas in your state and report here on what the coverage is acutally like. Is there, in fact, street level coverage for towns not listed as having detailed coverage?. IMHO, for many of us, this will determine whether the DVD is worth buying. In New York, for example, no new detailed coverage areas are listed. Acura only lists detailed coverage for NYC, Rochester, Buffalo and Cooperstown for v2.11. If, in fact, there is street level coverage for other locations like Syracuse, Binghampton, Albany, etc., it might be worth buying. Other states?

Mine is scheduled to arrive on 11/26/03 and I will post a full review and write-up once I get it, although it sounds like others like Nick79 are going to beat me to it.
