My Son scratched my TL-S with a rock!!!
I walked around my 2003 TL-S and noticed my son had scratched my car with a rock!! What can I do to get the scratches out?
The scratches are not too deep, thankfully!
The car is Nighthawk Black...

If my son ever did that, I'd give him a spanking he'll never forget ....Good thing that I don't have a son
Try some scratch marks remover if it's not too deep. Some touch up paint can help too

I heard a story in in the media recently of a guy who got his car back from the body shop (for a repaint).
He had a very young son who decided he wanted to help out while Daddy was washing the car.
Unknown to the father, the boy picked up a crushed can he found on the ground and started to go to work on the other side of the car.
Needless to say, the car went right back to the shop....

Dont mind the advice with the son, the guys are just making jokes.
Since the car is black, if you dont have a buffer/polisher, or if you are not too experienced with detailing, I would take it someone who is experienced and find a local detaler; not the detail job at the car wash, but a true detailer.

For the kid that helped his father wash his newly painted car with a can. I would be sure to wash the kid with the same can if he did that to me.

Ouch, I feel your pain. Just wait until your son turns older and you'll notice scratch marks about the size of his bicycle or scooter handlebars. I have two kids who like to run their hands over the hood as they run around a corner inside the garage to get into the house. Lots of scratches in the clearcoat. We've talked and they try to be careful, but hey, they're kids!
Give your son a hug, tell him you love him, and if he ever does that again, you'll kill him. Okay, just kidding about the kill him part, but do the other stuff. Your son is more important than the TL. But teach him to be respectful of other people's property.

2000TL - Thanks for the advice...
That is exactly what I did. I gave him a big hug and told him not to do it again.
He really felt horrible about it and I suspect the message got through.
Cars can always be repaired, not always sure about a child's self esteem!
By the way, I am prepared for the bicycle dings, football bangs, etc. The fun has just started...
