where did you get the wing and what brand is it? how much did it cost cause I am thinking about getting that wing or the WW flush mount wing, I don't like the fatory wing. Your car is really nice and clean.

The wing is an actual BMW M5 spoiler, so you can get it from any BMW dealership. The cheapest I found was at Pacific BMW in Glendale, CA. It was around $115 shipped. I had it painted along with the engine pieces above at Unique Auto Body in Tarrytown for around $200. I then went out and bought the mounting adhesive from my local BMW dealer for $10 and put the spoiler on with the help of my dad so I could line it up all nice nice.
I washed the tip of the trunk with Dawn, dried it, then used rubbing alcohol to make sure all the wax was removed. We then installed it. The whole process took about 15 min. or so.....

Junior Beam- what did you use to get the metallic looking finish on your engine cover to match the CAI? IT looks great!

The engine bay and the spoiler were painted at a body shop to match the ABP paint. I just dropped off the piece, gave him the paint code and he matched it.... and it came out great!!

Hey Junior, do you know the paint code for Satin Silver? My M5 spoiler just got here today and I want to take it down and get it painted right away. It looks great...this is by far the best looking of the spoilers. I love it. Looks great an ABP!!

so the wing isn't mounted to the car trunk with screws or anything right, it's just stuck on there with the mounting adhesive? how well does it stick, I'm thinking it might fly or fall off or something? thanx

OK.. in order
sixspdbrd - I do not know the code off-hand, but you can do one of two things... call your Acura dealer or, like Pianoman said.... check the label on the door.
typeSR2 - correct... it's just adhesive. Trust me... it's not going anywhere. Have you ever seen those sunroof deflectors / window visors, etc. from GTS that stick on with 3M tape? It's the same idea. I bought the adhesive from BMW, so if it's good enough for the M5, it's good enough for me. It is very sticky... it stuck onto the car as soon as it came in contact with the trunk. I had to wrestle the end off, then line it up and mount it. The key is to make sure all of the wax is off of the area you're mounting it. That's the only thing that would cause it to not stick too well. I also did it in the sun as it stuck to the warm paint better.
bloo_tls02 - the match is perfect. I was very nervous when I went to pick it up... but the guy did a GREAT job!!
EmuMessenger - I do not have a rear pic yet. I will get you a link that does have a rear view on silver. Hope that will help you for now . As for the paint cost... I had all three pieces pictured above painted for $200. I do not know the break-down of each piece, but I would guess that the spoiler alone would probably cost you about $100-$150 to get painted depending on the shops in your area. So figure that the total cost of the spoiler would be in the mid-$200 area.
Here's a pic on a silver car from the back/side....

slyborg - the spoiler comes unpainted. I'm assuming you can have them paint it a basic color like Black, Silver, or White but I would imagine it would.... a) cost more then $115 and b) not match the Acura color. The unpainted color is like a flat light gray kind of color. It's very dull and unappealing out of the box, but my guess is that it's like that b/c it's easier to paint.....

Wow...that looks very impressive! I emailed my BMW dealer and they are charging 344.00 canadian for it
However, it's still less than the Acura one..and I like the size of the BMW M5 spoiler.
I'm wondering if the trunk is still able to stay open with the added weight of the spoiler?

if there were any questions about the tape keeping it on, the answer is that once its on....its NEVER coming off. I put mine on yesterday and just barely set it on to make sure it was lined up. I tried to make an adjustment and it was stuck. I thought I was going to rip the trunk off when I was trying to pull it off to realign it.

I really like the looks of the M5 spoiler. It adds alot to the car without being too tacky like half of the people you see driving around with those foolish looking things hanging off the back of their cars! If anyone else decides to buy an M5 spoiler for their car I am curious to see how it would look mounted on the top of the back window as a wind deflector. It's one of those things that you have to see first by holding it up to the back window. If anyone decides to do this I would love to see a picture of it held up to the window because I wouldn't want to buy one and not end up liking it. It will either look really good or really tacky. Don't know until someone tries it I guess!

That looks sick !!!! In my opinion, you have one of the sharpest TL's I've seen on this site! Did you have to cut or fabricate the spoiler in any way for it to fit or did you just paint it and put it on? Did you have any problems with it sticking it to the glass? How much did it end up costing you in the end? Sorry about all the questions but I'm pretty sure I'm going to get one and do the same because it looks awesome. Good job, car looks nice!
