If its a 99TL its not new (jk its new to you). Welcome aboard. Comptech headers are good but expensive(1200+), AEM CAI are a good cheap way to some horses, or an ICE BOX, you can try a pulley kit but I really have no info on that.

Mine is a
White Taffeta 99TL
44K miles, stock cept comptech headers
Great ride.

Oh if your cd players on 99TL doesn't play cdrs properly and you're still under warrenty.....go get the HU replaced under warrenty from a dealer. The new units play cdrs.

If I were you and I had $$$ to burn this is what I would get:

JDM Value Sports Body kit w/ 6000k HID fogs
Convert to cleared headlights to 6000k w/projectors like (bobatimez)
Zeal Coilovers, or Tien Coilovers
Forged 3pc 19' Rims (up to u!)
Mugen Grill
Mugen Spoiler
Inspire Tail lights
Inspire Navi/Camera mod
Inspire Badging
Comptech Exhaust
Comptech Headers
Comptech Ice Box
Comptech Sways
AEM Big Brake Cross Drilled Rotors
Apexi VAFC
B&M Tranny Cooler

For the weekends:devil: 50 shot wet

Unless you wanna wait for the Comptech supercharger. I doubt it will be released due to ULEV emissions 1999-2001 ULEV (ultra low emissions vehicle)
Note: Type S is LEV (low emissions vehicle) thus easier to get C.A.R.B certification.

I dont know of anyone using the Fields S-AFC w/ their TL.

I know a bunch of people in here that have Apex' i V-AFC.
The best place to mount the V-AFC would be where the sunglass holder is.

BTW, there is not much gain by using V-AFC... I heard you can engage VTEC earlier which is pretty cool. You will def. pull on people earlier w/4 gears

Welcome aboard!!! If you have a question please use the search function first it's probably been talked about. If ya can't find what you need many of us are willing to help!

The cheapest mod you can do doesn't involve horsepower... You know the dull gray plastic peice your shifter goes through?? On the 99TL and the 99TL only you can make that shiny like a mirror! It costs $5 to get some paint thinner and scrape the small coating that covers up the shiny beauty underneath!

I would reccomend a short ram intake or a CAI (cold air intake) for your first mod. It will give you an idea of where you want to go performance wise and whether you want to buy any more performance mods.

If you get headers you don't need to tune them though many members report that the ECU computer in the car will adjust itself over a couple of days to the headers.

Many of us walk a fine line with rice. We all understand this isn't a $300 civic and we cant let stickers and other really ricey stuff get stuck to our car. Many will argue what is rice and what is not rice and there is no set answer (ok stickers are obviously rice) You and you alone have to decide what you feel is rice and what you want to do to your car.

Every time I get into my 99 TL I think damn I'm one lucky mofo!

with that said...

Really? that sounds intresting, but do you have any pics because I want to see what it looks like before I try it. Cuz if I tried it and did doesn't come out to what I expect, I might start crying.
