My gas pedal sticks

I gun the car frequently because it sticks sometimes and I am wondering where I should look to fix it, like some WD-40 on the linkage somewhere. Anyone know?

more like greas on the linkage, wd-40 will stop sequacking for a while but also gets reid of lubericants when u spray it. go under your dash were the pedal is at, press it in your hand, look for every moving part that u can see, try to look for something that makes it get stuck, if problem isnt there, then folow the pedal through the fire wall, folow the linkage, check it, your last bet will be the point at your throtle body, check the spring over there, see if its not realeasing or if the cable is loose/tight and getting stuck on something, and if the cable is all good, your last bet will be inside the throtle body, maybe the gate is getting stuck from something inside the TB, check for dirt grum, sticky stuff that build up over the years. if your TB is dirty then get a can of TB cleaner from some autoparts store and spray it. should solve your problem.

I have seen and fixede this problem several times for differant peps. Its your butterfly sticking to the trottle body. It's not that hard to fix, just remove the rubber air intake hose and filter top. and look inside the t/b w/ a flashlight you will see some brown film near the outer edge of the butterfly and on the tb . get a rag and a piece of wood dowle and clean that junk off using some solvent(almost anything petroleum based will work but be carefull not to contaminate the sensors in there) this WILL completely solve your problem.(remember the type S has 2 butterflies(2 stage induction))

excellent- thanks for the tips..

is it normal for the throttle body to be slimy with 44,000 miles?

absolutely, mine did it at 30k.I cleaned it and since then switch to synthetic oil and at 72k it still hasnt gummed up.
It's from the PCV directing oil vapors from the engine into the air intake where it gets burned instead of going into the environment. you can see the rubber hose going from the valve cover to the t/b.

I have to wonder if it's from PCV. Mine has periodically stuck since the day I drove it off the lot, with 10 miles on it.

And, PCV typically goes to the vacuum (i.e. the manifold) side of the throttle body, not the filter side.

take a look for yourself it's clearly on the filter side of the intake. I can't say it's always the cause of "stickie closed trottle" but it's always been the case by my experiance.
