My first race in the A-spec

was driving home the other day when a neon pulls up beside me ...it was obvious he had alot of aftermarket mods done but i was not sure what he had under the hood he did have a comptech and a Nos decal though ..anyway he pulls up and pauses beside me ( i guess to check out the car) he guns it and takes off..we were in a residential area at the time so i waited until the highway ...he slows down i pull up to him agian when he guns it agian, this time i gun it as well i pull back up to hiim and quickly pass him... and i wasnt in SS mode and had the VSA on....it was a great fealling.... again i am not sure what he had under the hood ...and it was just a neon but it felt good to smoke him just the same...

Don't brag about beating Neons. Beating them badly is already a given.

I raced a dumba$$ in an SR4T in the rain about a month ago. Blew right by him about three times. I was so proud, but I felt so bad as I knew he was pi$$ed and it was one of those "techincal knockouts". I just wanted to stop and break out the chalkboard to explain that 1 wet road x 6k rpms / 1 clutch drop = massive wheelspin at 0 mph...
Comptech sticker on a neon...It's like seeing a Camry with a one of those stupid Nascar numbers on the back window!!!

I wonder how many kids will (a) overboost their SRT-4 and blow up their motors within the first year or (b) wrap themselves around a telephone pole? It's a fast car, but the interior looks like a 20K Neon.

Speaking of ... anyone see those crazy Lancer Evos? I mean, it looks like a crappy little 4 door subcompact, but has 271 HP and sick performance numbers. The front airdam and lights are the ONLY styling thumbs-up I can give it. The rest looks like trash. Can't anyone make a performance subcompact that looks cool? The WRX (as odd as it is) is starting to look normal compared to the rest of the rice heap. Maybe the Evo will grow on me.

Freakin' neons!!

on the highway they will be far behind a TL-P or a TL-S.. but from 0-60 they can hold pretty good (with a 4sp TL-P) as i experienced it :p lol
