my factory alarm wont work..PLS HELP

wasup

man my factory alarm wont work i looked in the owners manual and evrything..they said it shud set off the alarm if i try opening the door with the key after the alarm is activated...but noooooooo i can open all the door n stuff n the alarm wont sound...can sumone pls tell me wuts up. thxx

From the moment you activate it from your key fob, it takes 30 seconds for the system to fully arm. Next time arm it using the key fob, then wait for at least 30 seconds. If you opened the door or the trunk after that, it'll go off.

If it still doesn't work, then obviously there's something wrong with it -- have the dealership take a look.

Oh, and make sure the red LED is blinking where the lock is on the driver's side door. If it's blinking, then it's armed.

yea it was blinking and evrythin and i tryed it wit the key earlier n i opened it up i was like oooooooo great now ppl can rob me wit no harm to them selves

Wuh, wait. You armed the system, then unlocked the door with your KEY?

Dude... that deactivates the alarm system.


A real test would be sitting in the car and locking the car. Wait for a bit, then simply open the door by pulling on the handle. The alarm will go off for sure.

But if you unlock and open the door with your KEY, then that will surely deactivate the alarm system.

i tryed that too while i was sitting in the car aswell...dint go off
