My dealer experience today/testdrive
Well, I test drove the TL-S today. I LOVED IT!! As far as I can tell, it felt just like the CL-S but with 4 doors. All the petty things a lot of people here don't like really don't bother me. The huge grill?? Whatever..the clear tailights? Whatever...The only truly peculiar thing is the bowling ball trim. Again, whatever...I will learn to live with these things easily. The bottom line this is a very fast, quiet, refined, and well built machine. Compared to my GS-R, well there is no comparison. I just don't fixate on fine petty details that's all.
The dealer confirmed that my car will be in next week, but since I'm going on a mini vacation starting on 3/22, I won't be able to pick it up until the week of 3/26. I'm very upset with what they offered on my trade in however. They only offered me $4400 for my 95 GS-R with 99K miles! Mechanically it is flawless and the body has some very minor stuff wrong with it. They would have offered at least $1,200 but they noticed that the car had some paint work done. More but 2 years a go, the car was vandalized on the hood. The autobody shop decided to repaint the entire car since it was hard to match the color (Teal). The dealer told me anytime there is paintwork done on trade ins, it greatly reduces its value. He told me it would have more valuable if the hood was a slightly different color than the rest of the car!? I know the car is worth much more than that so I've decided to sell it privately. I don't think I'll have this problem with a private sale. Luckily, I won't need the money for the down payment. The bottom line is I will be happily driving my new Aegean blue TL-S in less than 2 weeks. Maybe if I was more patient and expended a lot of energy I could find a better price than MSRP but screw it! I want it now!!

"...my new Aegean blue TL-S"
Sounds like you and Mr. Hyde love this colour. I wanted it too, but our second car (which we are keeping) is blue and it would make little sense to two with similar colours. Besides my wife and kids craze the silver look.
Family democracy rules the day ... satin silver it will be!
