Is my 03 TLS done for? Loud squealing from upper manifold please any ideas
I may have to cave and take my car to the dealer just to be told my engine is done for : (
Loud squealing coming from upper manifold cover, def not power steering and I just changed my pcv valve but the noise didn't go away.
When I accelerate the noise goes away. My car drives fine, no rough idle, no problems starting, no problems accelerating -- but this noise is gut wrenching. It's the loudest whistle/squeal and it seems to reduce slightly if I press down on the upper manifold cover. I verified the upper cover gasket is on properly and broke a bolt over torquing but I don't think my upper manifold cover not being on tight enough would cause a noise this loud. Any ideas? My car drives great and I don't have any symptoms of a vacuum leak, just a VERY loud audible noise which is certainly not coming from the power steering pump. It doesn't sound like a belt either. I'm at a loss for ideas.
Link of the noise is below. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Given your description of what is happening and how your car drives, I'm at a loss as to how you could possibly come to the conclusion your engine is done for. I cannot opine as to what the problem is, but I believe your engine has plenty of life left in it.
