Question Mud Guards - Do you have them?

My car came with them installed - I drive a WDP, so they are really noticable. They're starting to look really ugly to me, but they are probably not noticeable to the average Joe.

I think that I'm going to ask the service guys to remove them when I get my first oil change, but before I do that, I would like to know how many of you have them on your car (stock, without the body kits of course). Are they really that necessary for keeping pebbles and crap from spraying about down there?

Thanks.

I have them on my car right now but my car is black. Yes they do keep alot of pebbles and junk from hitting the car. When i get the body kit im gonna have to take them off.

I have em on my silver...I'm thinking of taking it off for the summer, when the only water I'll encounter is from neighbors pointing their lawn sprinklers the wrong way. I personally dont think theyre ugly or anything. Certainly would have been cooler if they were body colored.

When my TL was stock, I did not have the mudguards on. I think they look ugly and it messes up the clean line of the TL. I have a black TL so imagine a WDP TL with them on.
But in all fairness, I think they do a great job of keeping rocks and everything else from flying around down there.
IMO, I would take them off if I were you.

Yes, you have to remove the mud guards if you want to put the OEM bodykit on.

I have them installed on my Silver TL. I don't think they look bad at all and they are very efficient at doing their job.

One thing to watch for is if you take them off, you may have discoloration behind them or marks from them rubbing. Your car is pretty new so you may not have any problems, but just watch for it.

Listen to this guy! If you *ever* plan on taking off the mud guards (to put on a body kit or just because) then take them off now or be content with marks in your paint when you do take them off.

I have them on my car... then again the car is black. I think they are useful.

Have the mud guards painted. My bros civic's mud guards are painted the color of the car... that is until he took them off cuz they keeped getting wrecked after he lowered the car.

No you're not, I personally don't think that they look that bad at all... Just that I'm about to install a WW kit on them next week... Speaking of which, I wonder if I have to take them off for WW kit...

I have mud guards on all my cars. I can't stand cleaning the bumpers and the front door.

Dirt can built up very easily and makes cleaning very difficult. I will live with mud guards to protect my paint and bumper.

I purchased my car without the mud guards but after a couple a months I put them on. I don't think they look bad at all and they really help keep the tar and dirt off the sides of the car.

I don't have mudguards and I don't notice my car getting THAT dirty on the sides. Yes, it does get dirtier w/o them and yes, my car is silver. But it's really not that bad without them. And each person has their own style. I like mine w/o them.

Whoes selling their mud guards drop me a line. I won't be getting my kit until at least next year or if I find a sponsor soon, that'll pay for it.

So for now, I'll put the guards on until I get the body kit.

Mine came with front mudguards, and I later added the rear ones as well. Living in Canada, there's all this slush, salt, snow, ice, etc. that would be sprayed all over the lower body if it weren't for the mudguards. Anyone living in similar conditions should get a full set.

It's a different situation if you live in California, of course, and it probably becomes more of an individual style decision.
