After five gas tank fillups, I have never been able to put in more than 15 gallons. The tank supposedly holds 17.1 gallons, but I have no idea where the other 2 are! I have run it down past empty twice and still have not been able to get more than 15 in it.
I am guessing that there is that much in reserve but do I dare chance running out of gas to prove my theory. Those who thought they were experiencing low than average milage might consider this. Base your milage by how much gas you have put in the car since your last fill up. 380/15 is more realistic. Does anyone agree or am I just trying to justify.
I am just starting to use the ss and have never experience such passing ability. And the engine is silky smooth and quiet.

What are you trying to achieve? If you're only interested in figuring out miles per gallon, reset your trip meter when you fill up your tank. The next time you fill up, take a note of how many miles had elapsed from the last fill-up. Divide the miles by the number of gallons you pumped to fill the tank. Miles/gallons = mpg.
My advice is not to run the tanks completely dry. Unless you want to try out the Acura TLC Gallon-Of-Gas service, that is!
