Movitvated by a freakin' Mazda3

We've been there before: Coming to a stop at a busy intersection, nearly getting asswiped by a largish Blonde with too much make-up, foo-foo haircut, cell-phone glued to her face, driving like a f'in methed-out moron. Near the red light, she heads to the far right lane (which quickly turns into a right-turn only lane), obviously to pull a hole-shot and cut off whomever the hell is in the middle lane (in this case - Me.)
Stupid biotch must have though I was another mild mannered dork obeying the traffic limits (um... yeah, sure.)
So the light turns green, she guns it (as expected) in what looks to be an '09 Mazda3, so I give her about 1 car length before I punch it. Also as expected in my bone-stock '02 TL-S, I shoot past her and cut her off (felt great to see her bewildered look, and then could only laugh as she flipped me off).
Now here's the motivating part, once I passed her, I could not really outrun her. There was no hint of her overtaking me, but for chissakes - I felt like she should not have been that close! If I had pushed the pedal any harder - it would've shot through the firewall.
Fcuk it, I'm either bolting on some goodies pretty quick, or shopping for another car that will embarrass Mazda3 owners (I like Mazda's in general, but c'mon - Acuras FTW.)
Anyway.... I thought i'd share a story with people who understand. Rant over.

I did that to a base 3rd gen TL one time. It was funny because about 10 km down the road I was on the phone at the red light completely indifferent to the same TL beside me and he punches it at the light as I trot along. I don't think I needed to embarrass him twice.

If you got this car because you thought you were going to be racing and smoking other cars....I dont know what to tell you.

Yes our cars are pretty quick for a four door sedan but its not a sports car, if your into that kind of thing, then yes I would say shop for a car that is race inclined. My "lets speed all the time" days are over but my 5.0 would leave my TL looking foolish.

FOB, thanks for the link. Too bad I'm heading to Phnom Penh on the 11th so i'll miss this meet-up this time. Wish I had more time for a side trip to Phan Thiet, but I am out of vay-cay time.

Kidduce, good point about the "racing every car" mentality, but that's not for me anymore. The point was more about the fun of having VTEC working for me, but the innate desire to always have more power is undeniable. If I was sitting next to a 5.0, i'd feel differently than when i'm sitting next to a 4cyl grocery getter. I did some research on the Mazdaspeed models, and they haul ass as well.
Oh well, I'm learning every time I log onto AZ, and really want to see the other cars here in PDX!
